The Hybrid Synergy Drive® system in Hybrid Limited combines an efficient 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor to produce 280 hybrid system net horsepower. At the same time, Hybrid Limited offers an impressive EPA-estimated 27 city and 28 highway mpg and carries a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) rating.23
Hybrid Limited both generates and uses electric power—and you can see how much with the hybrid system power meter. It lets you know when the system is charging and also shows you electric power consumption. And with the energy monitor display, you can see when Highlander Hybrid is using its electric motor, gasoline engine or a combination of both.
In ECO Mode, Highlander Hybrid modifies throttle response to help with fuel economy and can also help when you’re slowly accelerating on low-traction surfaces such as snow or ice. EV Mode24 uses only the electric motor for situations where you’re driving at low speeds for short distances, such as in a parking garage.
Green trees. Blue sky. We’d all like to help keep it that way—which is why Hybrid Limited’s engine carries a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II (SULEV-II) rating.
The 2015 Highlander was designed with excitement in mind. A bold, aggressive grille aids airflow, while the available LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) add style and visibility. And its Chromtec® roof rails are integrated, which means when you aren’t using them to carry your accessories, their aerodynamic shape minimizes the noise coming from overhead.
This available feature allows you to open the rear liftgate and adjust how high it opens with the press of a button. If you have a garage with low clearance or a covered parking spot, you know how much this matters. And there’s no need to open the entire liftgate to quickly grab something small. Just use the available flip-up rear hatch window for easy access.
Even the wheels were designed to turn heads. Highlander Limited looks sharp with 19-in. Chromtec® wheels, XLE and LE Plus have unique 18-in. machined-face 5-spoke alloys, and LE features a stylish 5-spoke alloy wheel.
Waste no space. We designed the rear suspension of Highlander to create more space in the cargo area for your gear. And since every journey’s different, Highlander is there to adapt. Sometimes you’ve got lots of people, lots of gear, or a mix of both. The 60/40 split third-row seat has the ability to fold flat and recline to accommodate your needs.
In-seat entertainment for everyone. Your passengers have the whole sky to entertain them, thanks to the available panoramic moonroof that is part of the Platinum Package.
Keep the discussion going with the standard conversation mirror located above the rearview mirror. It allows you to quickly glance back to those in the rear seats, and as an added bonus, it also conceals a storage compartment for sunglasses.
Entertaining from the driver's seat is tough. Let the available Blu-ray Disc™ rear-seat entertainment system help. The 9-in. display screen comes with RCA jacks, remote and two wireless headphones.
Entune® Audio with Intelligent Touch controls comes standard on Highlander. With Bluetooth®, connectivity, SiriusXM® All Access Radio, HD Radio™, and a 6.1-in. or 8-in. touch-screen display, Highlander puts tech at your fingertips. And with the available Entune® App Suite, you can listen to music, buy movie tickets and make restaurant reservations using the touch-screen display. You can also get gas prices and access information on stocks, sports, traffic and weather.
No matter where you go, the temperature’s perfect inside. The three-zone climate control available on Highlander features individual temperature controls for the driver and front passenger, along with a separate control panel in the back for the second- and third-row vents.
Exciting to drive and help keep you safe. Highlander and Highlander Hybrid have been recognized for their high levels of safety by being named an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus when equipped with an available pre-collision system. Both vehicles not only are designed to help protect you in a crash, but also to help you avoid one. Because every adventure should be a safe one.
When brakes get too hot, they can become less effective. It’s called brake fade, and it’s a surprise no driver wants. To help prevent it, Highlander’s front brakes use a ventilated disc design, which helps to dissipate heat and ensure confidence in the vehicle’s stopping power.
LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) provides an added measure of safety for the smaller members of your family. LATCH includes lower anchors and tethers on the outboard second-row seats and a tether anchor on the middle seat of the second and third rows.
A Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) comes standard on every Highlander. Designed to monitor tire pressure at all times, it alerts the driver when a tire or tires become critically underinflated and is one more way Highlander helps keep you safe.
